In a significant move, His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE, has extended the Year of Sustainability into 2024, underlining the nation’s unwavering commitment to environmental responsibility. The announcement, made on UAE National Environment Day, emphasises the UAE’s dedication to safeguarding the planet for future generations.

Keolis MHI, a company known for its innovation and sustainability efforts, has welcomed this decision, emphasizing the importance of collective action in addressing global challenges like climate change. The extension follows the momentum generated by the historic COP28 climate conference, where crucial progress towards a greener future, including a fossil fuel phase-out agreement, was achieved.

As a regional leader in environmental initiatives, the UAE continues to set an example for the world, integrating sustainability into every aspect of governance and development. Keolis MHI, aligning with this vision, has pledged to strengthen its sustainability initiatives, focusing on energy efficiency, emissions reduction, and community well-being.

In 2023, Keolis MHI introduced several initiatives to reduce energy, water, paper, and landfill waste, with plans to enhance these efforts in 2024. Beyond this year, the company aims to expand its sustainability endeavors, incorporating advanced technologies and fostering global partnerships for greater impact.

By leveraging its expertise in transportation technology and sustainable practices, Keolis MHI aims to not only minimize its environmental footprint but also inspire individuals and communities to embrace greener lifestyles. Together with the UAE and other stakeholders, the company remains committed to driving positive change and realizing a world where environmental sustainability is a shared reality.
